It was not that long ago that Wider the Italian based yacht builder was sold by its founders to the Genting Group in Hong Kong. Now it seems they have got bored with it and have decided to move it on.

Genting Hong Kong Limited is a company heavily involved in the cruise ship and cruise related operations along with leisure, entertainment and hospitality activities.

Now a Monegasque group called Nautical Hybrid Tech along with the Zepter Group and Hopafi Holding Srl have acquired the entire ownership of the company, signing the beginning of a new era for Wider and many exciting news to be unveiled in the near future. To be led by Marcello Maggi, a nautical industry veteran of more than 30 years, Wider will now concentrate on green energy yachting.

Wider will continue building aluminium hybrid vessels and have concluded a license agreement with the Gentling owned Germany based, shipyard Lloyd Werft for hybrid yachts over 76 metres. These will be produced in Bremerhaven, consolidating the relationship between the two brands
