The big boys brokers club LYBRA (aka Large Yacht Brokers´ Association), is to return Barcelona having signed a contract with OneOcean Port Vell for the next three years following the success of this year’s event.
The 2019 show will take place the second week of May 2019 with LYBRA predicting a 30% growth in the number of participating superyachts next year as the pre-summer buying opportunity this prestigious event offers ahead of the Mediterranean summer season is recognised.
Last year just 22 yachts were lined up for inspection by a handful of visiting potential owners
LYBRA, is a trade association now comprising nine of the world’s leading superyacht brokerage companies – Burgess, Edmiston, Fraser, IYC, Merlewood & Associates, Northrop & Johnson, Ocean Independence, Yachtzoo and, as of 2018 Y.CO
The four-day customer-centric superyacht show offers companies the opportunity to showcase their fleet of superyachts.
The show gives yachting companies, global luxury brands and a wealth of prestigious sponsors a platform to create a unique buyer experience that is relaxed, elegant and enjoyable.
Capitalising on the 2018 event, the 2019 show will further expand its offering, with an increase in the number of brands and sponsors – which for 2018 included Aston Martin, Bulgari, Airbus, Mandarin Oriental Barcelona and Foglizzo – as well as incorporating several major shipyards.
This announcement will strengthen OneOcean Port Vell’s reputation as a key player in the superyacht industry having already played host to a number of notable superyachting events including the MYBA Charter Show and the International Barcelona Boat Show.
Originally built in 1991, the marina completed its transformation to a large yacht facility of more than 150 moorings with one of the world’s longest docks with 440m, creating the final destination for superyachts of up to 190 meters in length.
With visitor experience at its core, the facility is located only 16km from Barcelona’s El Prat airport, and moments from the vibrant city centre, the leading Mediterranean port boasts an array of amenities which include OneOcean Club, an exclusive private members club, The Gallery, a superyacht industry hub that offers crew members a waterside retreat of relaxation and wellness in addition to 24-hour security.
A team of qualified professionals are also continually on hand to ensure owners, guests, captains and crew have everything they need from safety, comfort, security and entertainment.

The big boys broker club LYBRA is a trade association for superyacht brokerage companies who have a fleet of Central Agency yachts with an LOA greater than 30m. It aims to bring the biggest companies together to discuss current issues and to address the future concerns of the superyacht industry, which are common throughout each individual company, regardless of the industry competition they may face day-to-day. LYBRA also promotes yachting and its lifestyle globally.
