Street Food & Pad Thai

We love street food and being in Bangkok you are spoiled for choice

A favourite staple of Thai cuisine is Pad Thai and you can find examples being cooked on almost any street all over Bangkok

Our favourtite was to be found at Thip Samai (313 Thanon Mahachai, Phra Nakorn) served from an unassuming storefront in the old district of Phra Nakorn.

Just stand on the side of the road (you will have to join the que) and watch high-quality ingredients cooked over flaming charcoal to give it a lovely smokey flavor.

Try “Pad Thai Haw Kai Goong”, soft rice noodles cooked with prawns, bean sprouts and a heap of other goodies that are then flash fried in beaten egg to become wrapped in a paper-thin omelette.

Flick it from the wok onto a plate, add chili flakes, crushed peanuts and a squeeze of lime and you have a very cheap road side meal that anywhere else you would pay a fortune for.
