Super yacht launched in Falmouth

Aluminum superyacht launched into fitting out basin

Nostromo the all new 30m aluminium sloop from Dubois Yacht Designs has been taken from the construction hall at the Falmouth based Pendennis shipyard and launched into the fitting out basin.

Built in 18 months, the yachts deck layout, superstructure and hull lines are designed to maximize on sailing performance with practical, all-weather comfort and usability. Externally, the aft deck offers opportunities for sunbathing, while the large bimini-sheltered cockpit is designed for dining on deck for up to 12 guests.

Below decks, the living space is spilt over two levels, taking full advantage of available sunlight through the 180 degree panoramic windows and providing the owner with a saloon for both dining and general relaxation, together with a practical pilothouse and deck-level lounge. Sleeping accommodation for up to nine guests is located aft and spread out over four en suite cabins.

Following her launch, the yacht’s carbon fibre rig by Hall Spars and Future Fibres, with sails by North and winches by Harken, was quickly set up before sea trials commenced. Nostromo is due to leave Falmouth for the Mediterranean at the end of July.

At her launch the Owner commented “I am pleased that all the effort put into the detailed design of Nostromo has borne fruit. I have an elegant and spacious all-weather performance yacht, which I am sure will give all who sail in her great pleasure and satisfaction.”

Nostromo is due to leave Falmouth for the Mediterranean at the end of July and will be available for charter through Edmiston
