A Place in Barbuda’s Sun Shine to Really Chill

At the tip of Antigua’s sister island Barbuda, lies a 12 mile stretch of undiscovered beach. Here, on the pinky white sand, looking out over the clearest turquoise water, one man is living the dream, welcoming guests to an unknown corner of the world.

Located on the Northern point of Barbuda, North Beach Barbuda is an undiscovered gem five miles from the nearest town.

Accessible only by boat, or super yacht tender, North Beach is the destination for travellers seeking a truly unspoilt Caribbean experience, where shoes are abandoned on arrival and guests revel in the rustic charm of a Barbudan paradise.

26 years of passion, a labour of love and an unmaterialistic approach has created a destination that the owner Reuben is proud of, where the heart rules the head and where guests are welcomed as friends and made to feel like part of the family.
With just ten guests able to stay at any one time, North Beach Barbuda is the option for a discerning traveller with a sense of discovery, and those looking for some true rest and recuperation.

A place for travellers who wish to dictate their own pace of life and leave their worries behind them. Here guests will switch off and enjoy the ‘Three I’s’ rule, no iPhones, no Internet and no Interruptions.

At North Beach there is no itinerary, guests do what they want when they want, whether it’s exploring 12 miles of deserted beach, lazing in a hammock, snorkelling on the 11 mile reef just off shore or playing dominoes by candle light.

Ideal for couples seeking solace, groups of friends wishing to get away together, or parents looking to spend quality time with their children, North Beach Barbuda is the option for true travellers.

Guests will enjoy privacy in one of five cottages. Built on stilts, the cottages offer simple rustic charm; there is no infinity pool, no flat screen TV, no cleaning of sunglasses, no children’s club…just an uninterrupted view of a stunning beach, a warm atmosphere and a relaxed pace of life.

At North Beach Barbuda guests enjoy the freshest seafood cuisine cooked by the beach’s charismatic owner. Reuben is a culinary expert; some say a talking menu who can rustle up dishes including lobster, conch and shrimps caught by local fisherman that very day, and for those with a sweet tooth there’s fresh banana pancakes.

With a self-service bar of bottled beers and wine, Reuben’s home-made rum punch, a selection of fresh tropical juices and coconuts galore, all meals and drinks are included in the stay, so there’s no need to keep track on spending.
Guests can reach North Beach Barbuda by flying to Antigua and taking a 15 minute plane transfer to Codrington, Barbuda’s capital. From here it’s a 20 minute boat journey through a crystal clear lagoon to North Beach.

There is also a ferry service from Antigua to Barbuda or for those wanting something a little more special, there is a helicopter service that can take guests straight from Antigua to their cottage door.
