We are great fans of Le Boat the largest operator of self-drive boating holidays on the waterways of Europe.

We have over the years sailed in boats from its own fleet of 900 self-drive cruisers and written about its network of over 39 different departure bases across nine European countries.

So we are quite excited about their brand new fleet of 5 star vessels, a new departure base in Holland.

Le Boat’s new 2017 brochure makes a splash with new options for solo travellers in Italy and fantastic early booking deals across 16 destinations and over 40 boat models to choose from.625x371xamsterdam-jpgqitokiqwckkux-pagespeed-ic-kbth9ifhnu

There are not lying when they suggest there’s a Le Boat option to suit every boating holiday budget and taste.

For the 2017 season the company plans a new base in Holland. Hindelhoopen lies north of Amsterdam in the Friesland region and it is famous for art and the traditional dress the locals wear.

Exactly the sort of thing that for us makes a family holiday into a great selling feature in yachting magazines.

From Hindelhoopen you can cruise through green pastures and small fishing villages, or head south towards our other base and even stop off in Amsterdam itself.

There are now even more Horizons on the horizon now that Le Boat has announced a further 40 new Horizon models will join the fleet in spring 2017, with this class of craft arriving for the first time in Ireland, Belgium, Brittany and Charente.

We are not sure yet what boats will be available in Holland but we will keep this news feed updated as we find out.
