Top Brokers Quit Burgess for Yachtzoo

There are always stories about yachting that a writer like me never expects to write, and this maybe one of those.

It is not often well established yacht brokers leave one of the most respected of houses to join another but Neil Hornsby and Amanda Armstrong have announced they are leaving Burgess to open an office for Yachtzoo in the heart of the City of London

They have chosen a strategic position and plan to become the premier superyacht brokerage company based within London’s Square Mile, placing the company front and centre in one of the world’s greatest business hubs.

Hornsby and Armstrong have a combined yachting experience of over four decades, with reputations that are globally respected within the business.

Their professional approach to yacht brokerage perfectly fits with Yachtzoo’s mission to offer discreet luxury services of the highest calibre to its clients.

Yachtzoo was founded by Paola Scalabrino, Kirsten Ringsing, Darrell Hall and Chris Richardson when they left other agencies almost 10 years ago. The brokerage house now has a global reach that includes operations in Monaco, Fort Lauderdale, Tokyo, London, Croatia and Montenegro, and New Zealand.

Having joined the yachting business in 2000, Amanda spent seven years as a charter manager before focusing on retail charter space a decade ago. This foundation gave her a rounded knowledge of the entire yacht charter process, from the perspective of charterers as well as owners and captains.

Neil brings with him an experience that spans more than 25 years 17 of which have been at Burgess. Before life as a charter broker, Neil’s early career saw him working on superyachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, and subsequently as an insurance broker for Lloyd’s of London.

Yachtzoo’s UK yacht brokerage office is strategically located in the heart of the City of London, within the Square Mile, with an office on St Dunstans Hill.
