The Sydney International Boat Show is in full swing and demonstrating its commitment to serving the evolving boating needs of the Australian market.

The show, which is the largest recreational marine event in the southern hemisphere, closes Monday, 3 August at the Cockle Bay Marina in Darling Harbour and the Sydney Exhibition Centre at Glebe Island.

With the continuous development of beautiful coastlines that extend across the South Pacific, Australia is conveniently located next to some of the world’s most alluring waters and breathtaking landscapes, making it a natural cruising destination.

The Australian GDP per capita purchasing power-parity stands among the highest in the world at $43,000 and with most of the population living along the country’s coastline, boating enthusiasts have both the ways and the means to enjoy their pastime on the water

Australians are avid boaters at heart who appreciate a well-built product and are looking for great underlying value, and this is exactly what we offer. This increased interest in yachting stretches beyond Australian borders and into the region, including Southeast Asia and the South Pacific.

Australians realise that yachting is so much more than an ostentatious display of wealth – it is an experience, a lifestyle. In addition, there is increasingly more leisure time available globally, giving people an opportunity to experience on-water living.

“Semi-custom capability, quality and value for money are key factors that prospective customers in Australia look for in a superyacht acquisition,” says Captain Richard Morris of Australian Superyachts, and as Gulf Craft’s exclusive distributor in Australia I see Gulf Craft really gaining traction in the Australian market,” he adds.

“Increasingly, our clients are requiring their yachts to be personalized and to meet world-class standards that would enable them to cruise in Australian waters, thereby delivering an enhanced resale value as well as the possibility to widen their operation to charter use,” Captain Morris said.

Established in 1999, Sydney-based Australian Superyachts offers a complete range of services to the Australian superyacht sector including sales, superyacht management, charter central agency, crew placement and yacht agency.
