Superyacht Gathering in Auckland

Gathering

Held in Auckland over three days next March, the Superyacht Gathering is experience-based event seeking to play an important role in building a community around superyachts in the lead up to, including, and beyond the America’s Cup 2021.

The inaugural event runs from 27 to 29 March 2019 and hopes to showcase the world of superyachts to the South Pacific’s growing pool of potential owners, charterers and visitors.

Offering three days of experiences, camaraderie and sharing of knowledge the Superyacht Gathering is the brainchild of two women with a background in the superyacht industry.

Managing Director and event co founder Linda Berry was well known in the industry as the Marketing Manager of Alloy Yachts before it folded.  Her partner and fellow co founder, Ellie Brade cut her teeth in the industry writing for yachting magazines before founding her own Public Relations company whose speciality is yachting

The gathering itself is an evolution of the Yacht Vision conference, with smatterings of long gone NZ Day’s in Palma, thrown in to liven things up.

The Superyacht Gathering hosted by some of the superyacht industry’s most passionate people seeks to take a fresh take on industry events that is designed to inspire, ignite and engage in an authentic and relevant way.

The speaker line-up includes equally passionate yachtsman and superyacht owner Neville Crichton and avid fisherman, diver and superyacht owner Sir Michael Hill.

Burgess will partner with The Superyacht Gathering for the first and following two editions, including hosting an exclusive VIP event in 2019 on board their 60 metre charter yacht, Dream, which is in the South Pacific for the season.

Tickets to the event are on sale now at NZ$500 each (about £255 sterling and just shy of €300).  For that you get a Yacht Hop and Welcome Party on day 1.  The Symposium Day on day 2 and a rest day on the 3rd day which offers the chance to take breakfast with the Commodore of the RNZYS and selfies with the America’s Cup. After that delegates get to visit Waiheke Island for a long lunch at the Stonyridge Vineyard.  What you don’t get is an invite to VIP dinner on board Dream during the evening of day 2.  This event is reserved for VIP sponsors and guests only.
