Opportunities in Superyachts Conference

The Opportunities in Superyachts conference in Malta has become a key networking event in the superyacht calendar. Now in its 7th year, it will take place on Thursday 28th March, 2019 at the Hilton St Julians. The conference will focus on key issues of concern to superyacht industry leaders. And cover; finance, regulation, safety, security, insurance, tax, corporate ownership, brokerage, chartering, marinas, build and design.

The Chairman of Superyacht UK; Jeff Houlgrave, a Senior Associate, with Marina Projects Ltd., will act as Moderator. He has an impressive list of well qualified and interesting speakers lined up to talk.

Sessions include

The impact of Brexit & other geo-political events on the superyacht industry.  During this a panel of experts will ask which superyacht industry sectors and jurisdictions stand to gain or lose as a result of Brexit? The session will look into the impact of Brexit might have on builders, brokers, buyers, sellers, insurers. And it will ask: How will Brexit affect yacht crew? As well as; What changes in taxation should we all expect?

Another presentation will look at the new realities of the superyacht insurance market explaining market corrections.

Refits

Refits will also receive conference focus.  A panel will discussHow the 2018/9 winter market has been compared to previous years.  It will ask the question; Is the scope of work increasing or decreasing? And it will ask are clients buying a full range of refit services or are they sticking to the bare minimum?

Marinas

When it comes to Marinas conference will question Is there enough marina space in the Mediterranean or will demand exceed supply?

The Opportunities in Superyachts conference has a lot on offer

Opportunities in Superyachts is preceded by its sister conference, Malta Business Aviation Conference. It offers delegates with interests in both, the opportunity to network across associated industries.

As in previous years, a drinks reception will be held on the evening of 27th March at Grand Harbour Marina. This will allow all delegates to network with the Malta Business Aviation Conference attendees and meet the night before conference starts.
