Major Changes in Superyacht Show Ownerships

Expect some serious and exciting improvements to the superyacht elements of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Yachts Miami Beach and the Palm Beach International Boat Show now that the company that owns the Monaco Yacht show has acquired them

The 133 million dollar transaction brings together the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and Monaco Yacht Show two of the most prestigious brands in global yacht shows.

Listed on the London Stock Exchange and a member of the FTSE 100, Informa’s Global Exhibitions division announced the purchase of Yachting Promotions Inc. (“YPI”), the operator of some of the largest yachting and boat shows in the US, including Yachts Miami Beach and the Palm Beach International Boat Show, the St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show and Suncoast Boat Show in Sarasota.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which draws 100,000 attendees, 1,300 exhibitors and more than 1,200 boats each November, is the largest of its kind in the world and complements the Monaco Yacht Show, the world’s leading event dedicated to the superyachting industry.

Combining the Monaco show, with five shows in North America makes Informa’s Global Exhibitions division the largest division in the group by revenue and profit.

The company has stated there is more suggesting, “Acquisitions in key and growing verticals will continue to be part of growth strategy going forward.”
