Rafaga an Atlantis Xcape 76 Launching Summer 2018

Atlantis Xcape 76

The former owner of a large fishing fleet, now since retired is getting excited about the arrival of Rafaga, his new yacht an Atlantis Xcape 76

Designed by Barracuda Yacht Design the Atlantis Xcape 76 is the culmination of many years’ worth of experience from this owner who has literally ‘been there, done that’,

This un-fussy and handsome looking, all aluminium 23m family cruiser, is due for completion this coming summer, and is being built by the Atollvic Shipyard in Vigo, NW Spain

The design brief was for owner-operated use for the majority of time; the owner now wishing to down-size from larger yachts he has owned in the past.

A compact, robust-looking, ‘go-anywhere’ multi-chine hull with walk-around access and raised hand-rails for added safety; these were the kind of seamanlike features deemed important for such an experienced owner, with a life-long understanding of the sea.

Architectural references for an apartment-style feel include tall, panoramic windows in the superstructure and similarly large windows in the main hull.

The focus has been to make this an easy boat to move around within and the addition of as many home-from-home comforts as possible.

The stairs, for example, have been made safe to use at sea, the hull is well insulated against noise and vibration.

The main saloon, dining area and galley are large spaces, compared to the overall size of the boat, and there’s a larger than normal Seakeeper gyro stabiliser to keep things calm at anchor or when out at sea.

Two single crew cabins are there just in case the owner needs additional help, but mainly there are three full size guest bedrooms with wide-entry showers for both the VIP bedroom and Owner’s Suite.

Powered by twin MAN I6 800hp inline 6 cylinder engines driving a fully CFD tested hull, economic cruising at just 12 knots will permit a maximum range in the region of 1500nm from a fuel tank capacity of 9100 litres. Max speed is 22 knots and typical cruising speed 18 knots.

The Atlantis Xcape 76 will carry a Williams 395 Sport-jet tender on the aft swim-platform, with other items carried in the garage including triple-seat wet-bikes.
